The World Games, overseen by the International World Games Association (IWGA), are considered the second-most significant global sporting event after the Olympics.
The World Games is a pinnacle event with over 100 countries and 4,000 world-class athletes competing for the title of World Games Champion.
The 11-day global multi-sport event is held every four years and highlights over 30 emerging sports, including flag football.
Flag football made its return to the global stage at the World Games in Chengdu, China, where top international women's teams from Austria, Canada, China, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Mexico, and the U.S. competed.

International Federation of American Football (IFAF) member federations and their sponsored teams qualify in select events, such as the IFAF Flag Football World Championships, to compete in The World Games.
USA Football is the only organization that selects, trains, and leads the U.S. National Teams competing in international competitions, world championships, and the Olympics.
The U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USPOC) officially certified USA Football as American football's National Governing Body.
American football has a clear Olympic pathway and a defined path to the highest level of the sport that leads directly through USA Football.
