We enjoy expanding our presence and connecting with fans, but if you want to promote our products or host an event using our brand, you need our permission. This includes using our logos, words, phrases, images, and other assets we own. We must approve the use of our Intellectual Property (IP) before you can use them. Below you will find information regarding the commercial and brand usage guidelines and ways to receive express consent from USA Football.
USA Football's Commercial and Brand Usage Guidelines provide an overview of our Intellectual Property (IP) rights and guidance on how to use our trademarks, copyrights, wordmarks, images, videos, and other assets, as well as terms of use. These guidelines are not legal advice and do not limit USA Football's legal rights and remedies. We recommend consulting an attorney if you believe you have infringed on our rights.
As the governing body of American football, USA Football develops elite athletes, builds pathways and opportunities for inclusive play, and delivers delivers education, health, and safety standards. Our mission is to lead, strengthen, and grow Football for All®; we create and deliver best-in-class resources, standards, and experiences for every football family member to pursue and enjoy America's favorite sport, from youth to elite U.S. National Teams.
To support our mission, we have been granted broad rights to control commercial uses of our IP. Official USA Football partners provide essential funding for our programs and athletes. We allow our official partners and licensees to use USA Football's IP, trademarks, copyrights, workmarks, and other assets we own in recognition of their support.
Federal law grants USA Football extensive rights to control the use of our IP in the United States, enabling us to file lawsuits against entities using our intellectual property for commercial purposes without consent. We are dedicated to protecting these rights and those of our sponsors to maintain a robust sponsorship program that supports USA Football's initiatives.
Unauthorized use of USA Football IP undermines our ability to attract and retain sponsors, which is vital for funding our programs. Additionally, when individuals or other organizations use our IP without permission, it detracts from our fundraising efforts.
We control the commercial use of future logos and word marks associated with USA Football, including videos, photographs, or other images that feature our athletes or IP. Federal law also prohibits the unauthorized use of simulations that falsely suggest an affiliation with USA Football.
