USA Football's Accelerator is a two-day, invite-only, position-specific development experience built for athletes who are serious about improving their performance and competing at a higher standard as part of the National Team Development Program.

THE ACCELERATOR EXPERIENCE
Each two-day Accelerator is a high-energy, structured experience featuring focused training on Day 1 and tournament competition on Day 2, where athletes apply and showcase their growth.
Focused, position-specific instruction designed to refine mechanics, improve efficiency, and elevate execution within structured competitive environments.
Training centered on acceleration, change of direction, and movement mechanics to enhance on-field explosiveness and positional performance.
Performance education that introduces foundational strength, injury prevention principles, and safe training standards aligned with long-term athlete development.
Competition preparation strategies that build situational awareness, decision-making, composure, and confidence under pressure.
Guidance on fueling, hydration, and recovery strategies to support sustained performance throughout training and competition.
Direct assessment and individualized feedback from USA Football staff aligned with National Team Development Program standards.
The National Team Development Program is designed to identify, train, and develop athletes nationwide for high-level competition, including opportunities to earn an invite to USA Football Select Bowl, Stars & States, and U.S. National Team Trials.
Accelerators are part of the National Team Development Program pathway and provide the invited athletes with higher-level position-specific training, competition, and evaluation. While events such as Talent ID Camps and Digital Combines introduce athletes to the evaluation process, the Accelerator deepens development and growth for athletes within the pathway.

At a USA Football Accelerator, coaches lead invited athletes through position-specific training, structured competition, and performance evaluation.
Coaching at an Accelerator provides the opportunity to demonstrate your skills while working alongside other top coaches as part of the National Team Development Program pathway and evaluation process.
Coaches must have a TEAM USA FOOTBALL® Coach ID, complete the Advanced Flag Course, SafeSport training, and pass an NCSI background check to be eligible—coaching assignments are limited, selection is not guaranteed, and all requirements must be completed to be considered.
Officials oversee structured competition at an Accelerator while officiating high-level, position-specific tournament play.
Officiating at an Accelerator provides the opportunity to your officiating skills while working alongside USA Football staff within the National Team Development Program pathway and evaluation process.
Officials must have a TEAM USA FOOTBALL® Official ID ($44.50), complete the Flag Officials Course and SafeSport training, and pass an NCSI Background Check. Officiating assignments are limited, selection is not guaranteed, and all requirements must be completed to be eligible.

Accelerators are designed to help athletes elevate their skills through high-level training, evaluation, and development alongside other top athletes in their region. Athletes learn directly from USA Football coaches and staff while experiencing the training standards used within the National Team pathway and receiving exposure to advanced instruction and performance development.
Accelerators serve as an important step within the USA Football National Team Development Program pathway, providing valuable coaching, performance feedback, and evaluation for future USA Football events and opportunities. As the National Governing Body for American football, certified by the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, USA Football identifies, trains, and develops athletes nationwide through a structured pathway to compete and grow within the sport.
Athletes leave the Accelerator with clearer knowledge of their position, greater confidence on the field, and a stronger foundation for future growth.
Invitations to a USA Football Accelerator are earned through athlete evaluation within the National Team Development Program. Athletes may be identified at a Talent ID Camp, Digital Combine, other NTDP qualifying events, or through USA Football scouting and performance review.
The cost is $249 for athletes who receive an official invitation and choose to participate in a USA Football Accelerator.
All participants must also have a TEAM USA FOOTBALL® ID (Athlete, Coach, or Official) to attend.
Coaches, officials, and families should plan for travel, lodging, and other related expenses associated with attending the event.
Following an Accelerator, athletes can earn invites to the Stars & States, Select Bowl, and U.S. National Team Trials based on continued evaluation within the National Team Development Program.
Beyond competition opportunities, athletes continue within the pathway with access to ongoing training standards, development resources, and performance tools designed to support long-term growth — including the latest skills and drills through the USA Football App.
