GAME RECAP: The U.S. Women’s National Team trailed Canada throughout the first half before several key defensive stops and an offensive explosion propelled the U.S. to victory. Vanita Krouch completed 23 of 33 pass attempts for 271 yards, five touchdowns and an extra point. Maci Joncich also tossed a touchdown pass. Isabella Geraci caught 10 of 13 targets for 130 yards, three touchdowns and an extra point. Center Ashlea Klam added six receptions for 46 yards. Madison Fulford, caught two passes for 58 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Ashley Edwards led the team with three successful passes defended, and Laneah Bryan led the way with five flag pulls. Vanita Krouch wasted no time getting the U.S. back on top in the second half, authoring a two-play drive that culminated in a 35-yard touchdown strike on a wheel route to Klam. GAME RECAP: The U.S. Women’s National Team and Mexico competed in a defensive battle that came down to Mexico scoring on the final play of the game. Neither team got on the board until Vanita Krouch found Ashlea Klam for a short touchdown pass with just 55 seconds remaining in the first half. A flurry of action resulted in Mexico taking a 14-7 lead going into halftime. Defensive back Deliah Autry-Jones stepped up with a pick-six that helped the U.S. draw even with Mexico at 14-14. Autry led the U.S. with four interceptions across their six games in Chengdu. Mexico responded to take a 20-14 lead. With 34 seconds left, the U.S. faced a fourth down three yards shy of the first down marker. Krouch connected with Madison Fulford for a 28-yard touchdown strike.
