USA FOOTBALL’S ADULT AND JUNIOR FLAG FOOTBALL NATIONAL TEAMS PREP FOR INTERNATIONAL CLASHES AT CHARLOTTE TRAINING CAMP
USA Football, leader of Team USA, continues march to flag football’s Olympic debut with 2026 U.S. National Team Training Camp.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – USA Football, the sport’s National Governing Body responsible for selecting, training and leading the U.S. National Teams for international competition, including when Team USA Flag Football makes its Olympic debut in 2028, will hold Training Camp for its 2025 teams at the United States Performance Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The camp will be open to media members on Friday May 16 and Saturday May 17. Media who wish to attend should RSVP to media@usafootball.com.
The 2025 U.S. Men’s and Women’s and the 15U and 17U Boys’ and Girls’ Flag National Teams, totaling more than 80 athletes, will be in attendance. Rosters are available for the adult and junior participants.
This is a crucial week for the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams, which will compete in several international events this year. Following training camp, the adult rosters of 18 will be trimmed to the final 12-athlete rosters that will represent our country this summer in the International Bowl in Los Angeles, The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China (women only) and the 2025 IFAF Americas Continental Championship in Panama City.
The U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams are the reigning world champions and top ranked teams in the world. Those looking to learn more about what’s at stake for the sport’s top athletes and the sport’s growing international legacy can view the documentary, “Champions Rising: USA Football's National Team” on USA Football’s YouTube channel. Champions Rising, created by USA Football in partnership with Duality Sports & Entertainment, follows the 2024 U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams on the thrilling path from U.S. National Team Training Camp to winning the 2024 IFAF Flag Football World Championships.
USA Football’s 15U and 17U U.S. Girls’ and Boy’s National Teams will compete in the fourth annual Junior International Cup in Los Angeles from June 20-22 against teams from Australia, Canada, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama and South Korea. It will be the largest competition in the event’s history.
Flag football’s popularity is exploding in the U.S. According to USA Football research, the number of boys and girls ages 6-17 playing flag football increased 37% from 2015-24, reaching a peak of more than 1.7 million this past year. Flag football is a sanctioned high school varsity sport for girls in 15 states.
Players, coaches and USA Football staff will be available for interviews on Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17 immediately before and after practice.
