USA FOOTBALL ANNOUNCES FINAL JUNIOR FLAG FOOTBALL NATIONAL TEAMS TO COMPETE IN 2025 JUNIOR INTERNATIONAL CUP

Junior National Team rosters finalized after Training Camp at Minnesota Vikings’ Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center. Nation’s top flag football players to compete in eight-nation Junior International Cup this summer.

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – USA Football, the sport’s governing body responsible for selecting, training and leading the U.S. National Teams for international competition, including the 2028 Olympics, has announced the final rosters for the 2025 15U and 17U U.S. Boys’ and Girls’ Flag Football National Teams. The Junior National Teams will compete in the Junior International Cup in Los Angeles this summer against teams from Australia, Canada, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama and South Korea.

USA Football’s Junior National Teams recently completed a training camp at the Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center, the headquarters and training facility of the Minnesota Vikings in Eagan, Minn., from April 3-6. The week included international friendlies between the 17U U.S. Boys’ National Team and Israel’s 17U Boys’ National Team.

Following the camp, U.S. National Team coaches and personnel trimmed the 18-athlete rosters to 12 athletes apiece. The final 12 athletes will compete in Los Angeles this summer, while the six alternates are eligible to be called up.

USA Football will hold a final training camp in Charlotte, N.C. at the United States Performance Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte to help the Junior National Teams prepare to face elite international competition.

“I’m very proud of how our athletes and coaches performed throughout the week. This was a unique and exciting opportunity to hold training camp at the Minnesota Vikings’ training facility. We are extremely grateful to the Vikings for hosting us and for their commitment to grow flag football around the world," said Eric Mayes, USA Football's Managing Director of High Performance and National Teams. “The final roster selection becomes more difficult each year as the talent level among our junior athletes continues to increase, but we trust our process to produce teams who will uphold our Gold Standard.”

USA Football’s Junior National Teams compete under the International Federation of American Football’s (IFAF) five-on-five rules, which will be the Olympic format in 2028. The junior teams provide developing elite athletes with opportunities to elevate their performance by competing against the best players at their age level from across the country and around the world.

This summer marks the fourth edition of USA Football’s annual Junior International Cup. It will be the largest competition in the event’s history. The Junior International Cup is part of USA Football’s efforts to lead and strengthen the growth of international football leading into the 2028 Olympics and beyond.

Athletes will compete for gold medals as they receive a genuine U.S. National Team athlete experience. The Junior National Teams are part of USA Football’s National Team Pathway, which offers athletes opportunities to represent their country from youth through adulthood.
