CARL ALLEGRETTI, FINANCIAL INDUSTRY AND AMATEUR FOOTBALL LEADER, NAMED TO USA FOOTBALL'S BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Frankfort, Ill. resident and Gary, Ind. native to help direct U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee member organization dedicated to football
INDIANAPOLIS (June 16, 2022) – USA Football, the sport’s national governing body and a member of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, announced today that President of Arbor Investments and a soon-to-be-inducted member of the National Football Foundation Leadership Hall of Fame CARL ALLEGRETTI has been named to its board of directors. The native of Frankfort, Ill., will be inducted into the National Football Foundation Leadership Hall of Fame on June 27.
With nearly 40 years of expertise in financial services, executive leadership and organizational transformation, Allegretti joins USA Football’s board, comprised of diverse leaders across youth, high school, collegiate and professional football as well as medical and business experts. The board is chaired by retired U.S. Army General Peter W. Chiarelli, the former Vice Chief of Staff for the U.S. Army (2008-12) and a 40-year veteran of U.S. military service (1972-2012).
Allegretti joined longtime friend and colleague Greg Purcell, founder and CEO of Arbor Investments, as the president of Arbor Investments in 2020. Arbor is an industry leading food and beverage private equity firm, headquartered in Palm Beach, Fla., with offices in Chicago and New York. The firm has $3.6 billion in assets under management and over 8,000 employees across its portfolio companies. Prior to joining Arbor, the native of Gary, Ind., held many roles at Deloitte, including Chairman and CEO of Deloitte’s U.S. Tax Practice, Deloitte’s Canadian Tax Leader, Global Private Company Leader, and Managing Partner of Deloitte’s Chicago office. He also presently serves as the Audit Committee Chair and a board member for Lurie Children’s Hospital in Chicago.
Allegretti and his wife of 33 years, Tammy, are the proud parents of two sons: Joe, a law student at the University of Notre Dame, who is married to his wife Eugenia; and Nick, who is entering his fourth season as an offensive lineman with the NFL’s Kansas City Chiefs and is married to his wife Christina.
A graduate of Butler University, Allegretti speaks regularly at professional forums and on college campuses about leadership, trends transforming the marketplace, and issues that business leaders face in today’s complex environment.
“Carl adds an extensive array of knowledge and leadership to our board of directors, spanning the spheres of business, philanthropy and amateur football,” said USA Football CEO & Executive Director SCOTT HALLENBECK. “He will provide valued insight and guidance as we continue to lead our country’s greater football family.”
“Serving USA Football’s board of directors is an exciting opportunity to advance the sport and its inherent values that have helped form me as a husband, father, business leader, and youth coach,” Allegretti said, “I’ve enjoyed the fun, fitness and friendships of football for the vast majority of my life as an athlete, coach, and parent. I very much look forward to being part of this extraordinary group to advance the health and well-being of our children through a great team sport and the community it fosters. Our kids need football and other sports now as much as ever.”
Last year, USA Football released eight recommendations to advance smarter play through new training and practice standards based on its Football Development Model (FDM). USA Football’s recommendations for youth play are supported by the American College for Sports Medicine, the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, National Youth Sports Health & Safety Institute and the Sports Neuropsychology Society.
Since 2013, nearly 1 million USA Football Youth Coach Certifications have been completed by coaches in all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and 10 foreign countries across four continents. In addition, more than 20,000 flag and tackle athletes have participated in USA Football’s U.S. National Team program since 2007.
