USA FOOTBALL STRIVES TO EXPAND SPORT’S ACCESSIBILITY, DEVELOP CHAMPIONS THROUGH 2026 GIVING DAY
National Governing Body aims to bring together 100 donors in one day to support the future of the game
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – USA Football, the sport's National Governing Body, will host its annual Giving Day on Wednesday, October 14, bringing the football community together for a 24-hour fundraising effort to grow the game, develop champions and expand access to football nationwide. USA Football’s goal is to unite 100 donors in one day to support the organization’s mission, as well as the athletes, programs and pathways shaping the sport’s future.
Funds raised during Giving Day will support USA Football programs that provide key resources and access across all levels of the game, from grassroots participation and athlete development to the National Team Development Program and Team USA Football®.
"Giving Day is an opportunity for the football community to come together and support the athletes and programs shaping the game’s future," said USA Football CEO, Scott Hallenbeck. "Every donor helps us create more pathways for athletes to play, develop and compete, whether they are discovering football for the first time or pursuing the opportunity to represent Team USA Football on the global stage in the LA28 Olympic Games."
Philanthropic support helps USA Football provide resources to grassroots organizations that give the next generation of athletes opportunities to enjoy football and learn important life lessons through sport. Since 2006, USA Football has awarded more than $23 million in grants to more than 16,000 programs across all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
As the sport’s National Governing Body, USA Football is responsible for selecting, training and leading Team USA Football in international competition for tackle and flag football disciplines, including flag football's Olympic debut at LA28.
In August, the U.S. Men’s National Team won their sixth consecutive International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Flag Football World Championship. The U.S. Women’s National Team advanced to the championship game, which came down to the final play, ultimately earning silver.
The 24-hour event begins at 12:01 a.m. ET on Wednesday, October 14, but supporters can make their Giving Day gift in advance at usafootball.com/giving-day. USA Football is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Contributions are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law.
