USA FOOTBALL’S SPRING GRANTS PROGRAM DELIVERS $550,000 TO GRASSROOTS YOUTH ORGANIZATIONS

USA Football supplies youth football programs with necessary equipment through Spring Grants

INDIANAPOLIS – USA Football, the sport’s governing body and a member of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), is awarding $550,00 in new football equipment to more than 1,100 youth sports organizations as part of the non-profit’s Spring Grants program. USA Football and its partners, Riddell and BSN SPORTS, fulfill spring grants for the benefit of youth programs.

Spring Grants play a large role in USA Football’s comprehensive grants program, which awarded approximately $2.8 million in equipment and resources to more than 3,000 enrolled organizations spread across all 50 states and Washington, D.C. in 2023.

USA Football will award additional equipment this spring to support the growth and development of flag football programs. More than 10,000 flag belts and 1,500 footballs will be distributed. Flag football is one of the world’s fastest growing sports and gained even more momentum following the announcement this past October that it will be included in the Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028.

“Supporting the youth football community through our grants programs is one of the most rewarding elements of our work at USA Football,” said USA Football CEO Scott Hallenbeck. “We’re very grateful for the relationships we have developed with the NFL Foundation, Riddell and BSN SPORTS, who support our mission as the sport’s governing body to lead, strengthen and grow Football For All®. Together, we reduce barriers to entry for thousands of children and youth programs by ensuring access to the equipment they need to enjoy the fun and fitness of football.”

The grant programs assist organizations with acquiring necessary equipment, creating inclusive football experiences and raising their operational standards. USA Football’s 2024 grant programs include Spring, Fall, CATCH, LEP, Girls’ Flag, Summer Flag and AED grant categories.

“We continue creating opportunities for young athletes to get involved with football,” said USA Football Senior Director of Grants Beth Porreca. “Our spring grants and partners help youth organizations get the equipment they need to maintain or build upon their programs. The volunteers leading our enrolled youth leagues do tremendous work, and we are excited to support them and their communities.”

Applications for USA Football’s AED, Girls’ Flag and Summer Flag grants are open. Organizations that enroll for free on usafootball.com are eligible to submit for grants.

Since 2006, USA Football has awarded more than $20 million in grants to youth and school-based football programs, which has directly benefited youth and high school players across 12,000 programs in all 50 states and Washington, D.C.
