USA FOOTBALL NAMES JOHN PARK HIGH PERFORMANCE COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN AS INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS EXPAND

John Park, Dallas Cowboys Director of Strategic Football Operations, adds volunteer role with American Football’s National Governing Body.

DALLAS, TEXAS – USA Football, the sport’s first National Governing Body responsible for fielding the U.S. National Teams for international competition, including the 2028 Los Angeles Summer Olympics, has named Dallas Cowboys Director of Strategic Football Operations, John Park the Chair of its High Performance Committee.

The High Performance Committee advises USA Football on the development of its high performance programs, resources and events to identify and evaluate elite athletes and coaches for roles on the U.S. National Teams. With the assistance of the High Performance Committee, USA Football has significantly expanded its opportunities for athletes to join the pathway to the U.S. National Team.

Park joined the Cowboys in 2023 and leads strategic football efforts for the team, working closely with coaches, scouts and front office staff to provide data-driven recommendations for team success. He previously filled a similar role with the Indianapolis Colts for seven years, identifying, developing and deploying resources to support football operations.

“We’ve been impressed by John’s strategic and tactical advice during his time on the High Performance Committee. His years of experience working with the Colts and Cowboys give him unique insight into building and developing successful programs,” said Eric Mayes, USA Football's Managing Director of High Performance and National Teams. “We look forward to John’s continued contributions and leadership as we progress toward the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles and beyond.”

“I’m excited to continue supporting USA Football and the U.S. National Teams as the chairman of the High Performance Committee,” said Park. “As global competition and investment in football increase, the committee will assist USA Football with building sustainable high performance programs that develop and prepare athletes and coaches for international events. This is a very exciting time for the sport, and I’m thankful for the opportunity to support the U.S. National Teams on the path to the Olympics.”

Park earned his bachelor's degree in cultural anthropology from Duke University and his master's degree in actuarial science from Columbia University. Prior to his time with the Colts, he worked in NFL Player Engagement and with Rutgers Football in player development and recruitment roles.

Since Park joined the High Performance Committee in 2024, USA Football has expanded its National Team Development Program to include 16 Talent ID Camps, presented by Under Armour, hosted coast-to-coast. The camps, which run from the fall through the end of the spring, provide a pathway for athletes to compete for Select Team roster spots and invitations to U.S. National Team Trials.

Additionally, USA Football has refined its athlete & coach resources and Trials process for the U.S. National Teams. The U.S. Men’s and Women’s Flag National Teams competed in the 2024 International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Flag Football World Championships in Lahti, Finland this past August, and defended their titles as world champions against the largest pool of national teams to ever compete at an IFAF event.
