USA FOOTBALL ANNOUNCES INITIAL ROSTERS FOR 2025 JUNIOR FLAG FOOTBALL NATIONAL TEAMS

Junior National Team rosters selected from 160 attendees at U.S. National Team Trials. Athletes will compete to represent the USA in international competitions in LA in July.

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. – USA Football, the sport’s governing body responsible for selecting, training and leading the U.S. National Teams for international competition, including the 2028 Olympics, has announced the initial 18-athlete rosters for the 2025 15U and 17U U.S. Boys’ and Girls’ Flag Football National Teams. The teams will compete in the fourth edition of the Junior International Cup in Los Angeles this summer.

The Junior U.S. Flag National Teams will compete under International Federation of American Football (IFAF) rules against top boys’ and girls’ programs from around the world. This year’s Junior International Cup will be the largest yet, featuring teams from Australia, Canada, Japan, Mexico, New Zealand, Panama and South Korea.

“This was the deepest talent pool USA Football has ever brought to U.S. Junior National Team Trials, which is a credit to the growth of flag football and the elite talent that exists across the country," said Eric Mayes, USA Football's Managing Director of High Performance and National Teams. "The performance of all our Trials participants made these roster decisions incredibly difficult, but we are confident that our process has produced the country's best teams. USA Football is thrilled to have all of these athletes as part of the U.S. National Team family, and we look forward to seeing them at training camp next month when we begin our quest for Gold in 2025.”

USA Football’s Junior National Team rosters feature youth athletes from coast to coast and beyond, representing 16 states, including Ariz., Calif., Conn., Fla., Hawaii, Mass., Mich., Mo., Nev., N.C., N.H., N.J., N.Y., Pa., Texas and Va.

USA Football will hold a training camp for the 15U and 17U U.S. Boys’ and Girls’ National Teams at Twin Cities Orthopedics Performance Center, the headquarters and training facility of the Minnesota Vikings in Eagan, Minn., from April 3-6. During the week, the 17U U.S. Boys’ National Team will hold joint practices and international friendlies against Israel’s 17U Boys’ National Team.

After the training camp, U.S. National Team coaches and staff will select the final 12-athlete rosters that will travel to USA Football’s Junior International Cup in June. The remaining athletes will serve as alternates. USA Football will hold a final training camp in Charlotte, N.C. at the United States Performance Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte to help the Junior National Teams prepare to face elite international competition.

Out of the 72 total athletes on the current rosters, 27 competed for USA Football’s Junior National Team in the 2024 Junior International Cup. More than half of the athletes chosen to compete for final roster spots and represent the U.S. on an international stage began their journeys through USA Football's National Team Development Program. These athletes showcased their elite talent in front of U.S. National Team coaches and personnel at last year's Select Bowl and Talent ID Camps held in the fall and winter of 2024.

The Junior National Teams are part of USA Football’s National Team Pathway, which offers athletes opportunities to represent their country from the youth level through adulthood. Several members of past Junior National Teams will try out for the U.S. Men’s and Women’s National Teams this week.
