INDIANAPOLIS – Marc Beach, the offensive coordinator of Tift County High School in Tifton, Ga., will lead the 2019 United States Under-17 National Team against Team Japan, an Under-17 team of that country’s top players at 2 p.m. EST/1 p.m. CST on Jan. 18, 2019, during the 10th annual International Bowl Series at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Japan has been part of the global American Football family since 1934 when its national football federation was established.

Beach is in his third year at Tift County High School following 14 seasons as head coach at Daytona Beach (Fla.) Seabreeze High School. A seven-year coaching veteran of international football as part of the U.S. National Team program, Beach brings 25 years of coaching experience. He also served as offensive coordinator for the 2014 U.S. Under-19 National Team, which earned the goal medal at the International Federation of American Football’s Under-19 World Championship in Kuwait.

Established in 2010, the International Bowl is the longest-running annual series of high school-aged international football teams. This year’s event – International Bowl X – will convene 16 teams from five countries across four age divisions for two gamedays of global competition. U.S. National Teams are managed by USA Football, a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee and the sport’s national governing body.

All International Bowl games will be webcast live on ESPN3.

“Coach Beach is an electric combination of an exceptional teacher, game-planner, innovator and virtue-steeped leader of young men,” said AARON INGRAM, senior manager of U.S. National Teams for USA Football. “Coach’s enthusiasm and positive thinking lights up a sideline and exudes all things positive of an exceptional sport. He is a valued member of the USA Football family and will represent our nation exceedingly well against a gifted and exciting Japanese National Team.”

Former U.S. National Team head coaches include CHUCK KYLE (Cleveland St. Ignatius H.S.), CHRIS MERRITT (Miami Christopher Columbus H.S.), STEVE SPECHT (Cincinnati St. Xavier H.S.) and TOM WESTERBERG (Barbers Hill [Texas] H.S.).
