TEAM USA FOOTBALL PREPS FOR INTERNATIONAL GOLD MEDAL PURSUITS AT CHARLOTTE TRAINING CAMP
– USA Football, leader of Team USA Football, paves way to international championships in China & Panama with training camp at UNCC –
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – USA Football, the sport’s National Governing Body responsible for selecting, training and leading the U.S. National Teams for international events, including World Championships, The World Games and the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, will hold its second training camp of the year at the United States Performance Center on the campus of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, July 17-20.
This week is an important step for the world champion U.S. National Teams as they prepare to defend their top positions on the world leaderboard against increasingly competitive international squads. The U.S. Women’s National Team will compete in The World Games 2025 in Chengdu, China in August, while both teams will compete in the 2025 IFAF Americas Continental Championship in Panama City in September.
Team USA Football players, coaches and staff will be available for interviews on Friday, July 18. Included below is a schedule with media availability. The 12 men and 12 women who will represent the U.S. this summer will be in attendance, along with Team USA coaches and personnel. Rosters for the men’s and women’s U.S. National Teams are available at usafootball.com. Additionally, USA Football has assembled a 2025 U.S. National Team Media Guide with background information on all U.S. National Team athletes and coaches.
The U.S. National Teams are reigning continental champions dating back to the event’s debut in Charlotte, N.C. in 2023. The World Games 2025, a multi-sport event for events not yet contested in the Olympics, first included flag football in Birmingham, Ala. in 2022.

Flag football’s popularity is exploding in the U.S. According to USA Football research, the number of boys and girls ages 6-17 playing flag football increased 37% from 2015-24, reaching a peak of more than 1.7 million this past year. Flag football is a sanctioned high school varsity sport for girls in 15 states.
