PACIFIC UNIVERSITY DEFENSIVE COORDINATOR LUKKES GILGAN TO LEAD U.S. UNDER-19 SELECT TEAM AT INTERNATIONAL BOWL X AT COWBOYS AT&T STADIUM
INDIANAPOLIS – Lukkes Gilgan, the defensive coordinator of Pacific University in Forest Grove, Ore., will lead the 2019 United States Under-19 Select Team against Team Nuevo Leon, an Under-19 team from Mexico, at 8 pm CST/6 p.m. PST on Jan. 11, 2019, during the 10th annual International Bowl Series at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
Gilgan is in his third season as Pacific University’s defensive coordinator. In 2016, he led the Boxers’ defense to a No. 1 or No. 2 ranking in five categories in the Northwest Conference, highlighted by a conference-leading 20 sacks. Prior to Pacific, Gilgan served as a graduate assistant at the University of New Mexico and was accepted to both the NFL-NCAA Coaches Academy and American Football Coaches Association’s 30-Under-30 Football Coaches Academy.
Established in 2010, the International Bowl is the longest-running annual series of high school-aged international football teams. This year’s event – International Bowl X – will convene 16 teams from five countries across four age divisions for two gamedays of global competition. U.S. National Teams are managed by USA Football, a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee and the sport’s national governing body.
All International Bowl games will be webcast live on ESPN3.
