Carolina Panthers host Girls High School Flag Football Clinic for Union County Public Schools and Cabarrus County Publics Schools

Carolina Panthers Charities has provided Union County and Cabarrus County schools with $40,000 in program grant funding and USA Football resources to support success of the pilot programs.

The Carolina Panthers in partnership with Union County Public Schools and Cabarrus County Schools will host a Girls High School Flag Football clinic at the team’s Atrium Health Dome at Bank of America Stadium Sunday, December 10. Both school districts have recently completed their inaugural Girls High School Flag Football seasons.

Players will have an opportunity to participate in a flag football clinic led by U.S. Women’s Flag National Team quarterback, Vanita Krouch, while also meeting with USA Football Head of Player Personnel, Charles Torwudzo to learn about the player pathway for girls in flag football. Hali Woods, Panthers Nutritionist Assistant, will also be on-site to discuss the do’s and don’ts of nutrition, as well as pre-game/post-game nutrition that can help prevent under-fueling and cramping.

“The Carolina Panthers are thrilled to support the success of both Cabarrus County Schools and Union County Public Schools Girls High School Flag Football programs,” said Carolina Panthers director of community relations Riley Fields. “We are also pleased to welcome USA Football and U.S. Women’s Flag Football National Team members who will provide inspiration, encouragement and support for the players.”

USA Football, the non-profit governing body of American football in the United States and the only organization responsible for creating and leading the U.S. National Teams that compete in international competitions, including the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles, is supporting the event by delivering flag equipment kits to each school. USA Football’s flag football equipment kits include all the items needed to host games and practices including field pylons, cones, ladders, flag belts and more as well as additional resources such as USA Football’s flag football rule book, practice plans, playbooks, and health and safety information.

“USA Football is eager to support the Carolina Panthers as they continue to grow the game and provide new athletes with opportunities to enjoy football,” said USA Football Head of Player Personnel Charles Torwudzo. “As the sport's governing body, it’s part of USA Football’s mission to grow Football For All, especially as new and exciting opportunities emerge, like the chance to represent the U.S. as part of our National Team at the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.”

Torwudzo and Krouch will address each team prior to play and will be on hand to support them during competition.
