Tackle Programs

USA Football is the only organization that selects and organizes the Men’s and Women’s U.S. National Tackle Teams in federation-sanctioned international competition. 

The Men's and Women's U.S. Tackle National Teams have represented the country against international competition in the International Federation of American Football (IFAF) World Championships, and have competed in other events such as the North American Championship and International Bowl.

Program Accomplishments

The Men's U.S. Tackle National Team has won the three championships in which it participated, beating Japan in the finals in 2007 and 2015 and Canada in 2011. The 2015 team was led by former Boise State and Colorado head coach Dan Hawkins and included athletes who played college football at Boise State, Iowa State, Mississippi State, Oregon State, Texas Tech, USC, Washington and more. 

Led by head coach Callie Brownson and an all-star staff with international playing and coaching experience, the Women's U.S. Tackle National Team won their fourth consecutive IFAF Women's World Championship in 2022, beating Great Britain. The team's previous victories in the 2010, 2013 and 2017 finals all came against Canada.
