USA FOOTBALL ANNOUNCES FINAL ROSTER FOR 2022 U.S. WOMEN'S TACKLE NATIONAL TEAM

INDIANAPOLIS – USA Football, a member of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee and the sport's national governing body, has announced the final 45-player roster for the 2022 U.S. Women’s Tackle National Team that will compete in Vantaa, Finland in the 2022 International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Women’s Tackle World Championship from July 28-Aug. 8.

CALLIE BROWNSON, the U.S. Women’s Tackle National Team head coach and Chief of Staff and Assistant Wide Receivers Coach for the Cleveland Browns, oversaw about 200 women try out for the team on March 12-13 at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla. Brownson and her seven-member U.S. coaching staff, which possesses more than 90 years of football coaching and playing experience with careers spanning U.S. National Teams, NFL clubs, women’s professional football leagues, and college and high school programs.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Assistant Defensive Line Coach LORI LOCUST and Washington Commanders Assistant Running Backs Coach JENNIFER KING assisted Brownson and USA Football during the U.S. Women’s Team’s mid-March player workouts and evaluations, although they are not members of the U.S. coaching staff.

“Although preparation and work remain before we board our plane for Finland, this incredible group of 45 women possesses the smarts, passion and strength that my staff and I want on our roster,” said Brownson, who won gold medals as a player on the 2013 and 2017 U.S. Women’s Tackle National Teams. “We need to be ready and expect that the best competition in the world will throw everything they have at us – and we wouldn’t want it any other way.”
