USA FOOTBALL ADDS COLTS’ PETE WARD AND WOMEN’S FOOTBALL TRAILBLAZER RACHEL WORSHAM TO ITS BOARD OF DIRECTORS
INDIANAPOLIS – USA Football, the sport’s national governing body and a member of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC), announced today that Indianapolis Colts Chief Operating Officer PETE WARD and Falls Creek (Va.) George C. Marshall High School assistant coach and U.S. Women’s National Team alumna RACHEL WORSHAM have been named to its board of directors.
USA Football’s board of directors is comprised of leaders in education, medicine and athletics. Board members guide and help the independent non-profit establish important standards, initiatives and programs to advance, unify and grow the sport for the good of youth, high school and adult amateur players.
“As the grassroots football community returns to the field this year, our board’s vison and support means that much more,” said USA Football CEO & Executive Director SCOTT HALLENBECK. “Knowing the vast and varied experience that both Pete and Rachel hold, we’re excited to have them join our board and help further advance youth and amateur football nationwide.”
Ward enters his 41st season with the Indianapolis Colts in 2021. He was named chief operating officer in 2010 after serving as the team’s senior executive vice president since 2001. His leadership and duties are wide-ranging, contributing to all areas of the organization, including having served as the Colts’ point person on the design and construction of Lucas Oil Stadium and as the team’s liaison with the City of Indianapolis as it hosted its first Super Bowl (XLVI).
Worsham, a member of the gold-medal winning 2017 U.S. Women’s National Team, is the offensive line coach at George C. Marshall High School in Falls Church, Va. Since 2019, she’s also served as the director of operations for the D.C. Divas of the Women’s Football Alliance after an 11-year playing career with the team that included back-to-back national championships in 2015 and 2016.
