A game before a sport
First Down introduces kids and parents to the game of football in a fun, free and friendly format.
Kids get active and learn the basics of football such as running, jumping, passing and catching. Through hundreds of events across the country, hosted by USA Football and community organizations, kids will experience football for the first time. This initiative brings football to everyone and serves as an athlete’s first step into the Football Development Model.

Additional Offerings
All First Down events are free, and focus on teaching core skills like running, passing, catching, hand-offs and other football movements. First Down events occur all around the country. Though they all have the same goal and basic elements, they can look a little different. Scroll over each one to see the details.
Similar to Tours, these are staffed by USA Football and held at major football events like the NFL Draft, Super Bowl, Pro Bowl, NCAA bowl games and the College Football Playoff. They are fast and fun!
Run by USA Football, Tours are the largest First Down events with up to 600 kids over each day. They are hosted at NFL facilities in select markets. Kids will go home with a shirt and gift from USA Football.
USA Football provides the curriculum for these events that are run by community-based leagues and other organizations. These events vary in length from a couple of hours to multiple days.
