*USA Football's Participant Accident Insurance covers all Coach & Commissioner and Athlete members.
**Affiliate Organizations are covered by USA Football's General Liability, which includes Sexual Abuse and Molestation, Management Liability, which includes Employment Practices Liability, Directors & Officers, and Crime, and Inland Marine insurance coverages annually.

The USA Football Affiliate Program is a membership initiative designed to support youth football organizations by providing them with essential resources, tools, and benefits aimed at enhancing safety, organizational excellence, and overall program health. Through this program, youth football administrators gain access to valuable assets such as health and safety training, insurance coverage, operational support, and best practices to help ensure that their organizations are well-equipped to deliver positive football experiences. Ultimately, the program seeks to foster community, support the growth of youth football, and establish a foundation of quality and safety across the sport.
Yes. This program requires USA Football Membership for coaches and athletes, and in 2025 all coaches are encouraged to have a current background check on file with their organization. Starting in 2026, coaches will be required to have a background check on file.
Organizations must first be enrolled with USA Football. Once they are enrolled, the Affiliate process for new organizations will require an application located on the admin dashboard on usafootball.com. Once approved, organizations will complete the Affiliate enrollment process. Renewing Affiliate organizations will need to be sure to reenroll annually and resubmit their Affiliate Application annually to continue to stay in the program.
The USA Football Affiliate Program provides youth football organizations with essential tools and support to operate effectively, safely, and sustainably. It strengthens organizational structure and governance, ensuring fair and safe play for all participants.
By becoming an Affiliate of USA Football aligns organizations with Football's Governing Body, enhancing credibility and excellence in youth sports. Key benefits include health and safety training, comprehensive insurance covering all members, and resources for operational best practices. Organizations can sanction leagues, verify athlete ages at no cost, and qualify for financial incentives through the League Excellence Program (LEP). Ultimately, the program empowers organizations to deliver a fun, educational, and safe football experience.
Cheer programs within an Affiliate will fall under their General Liability coverage. All cheer coaches will need to purchase a Cheer Registration ($10), and all parents will need to create accounts and purchase a Cheer Registration for their cheerleader ($10). This will ensure that cheer coaches and cheerleaders have Participant Accident Insurance Coverage.
