THE LEGACY
U.S. Women’s Tackle National Teams, built and managed by USA Football, have now won gold medals at each of the four IFAF World Championships: 2010 (Sweden), 2013 (Finland), 2017 (Canada), and 2022 (Finland).
2022 U.S. WOMEN’S TACKLE NATIONAL TEAM
The 2022 U.S. Women’s Tackle National Team won the International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Women’s World Championshipin Vantaa, Finland! The U.S. defeated Great Britain 42-14 in the Gold Medal game.
PATHWAY TO GOLD
Through our National Team program, we provide a pathway to the highest level of the game for both tackle and flag with an eye on a gold medal. As football’s governing body, USA Football is the sole US member of the International Federation of American Football (IFAF). USA Football is recognized by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, and we are proud to join IFAF and the NFL to advocate for flag football’s inclusion in the 2028 Olympic Games.
Our National Team athletes and coaches represent the highest level of the competition and the standard of excellence for our game. They represent the U.S in international competitions like IFAF Continental & World Championships, the World Games, and, hopefully, the 2028 Olympics.
THE 2022 TRIALS
The Trials for the 2022 U.S. Women's Tackle National Team occurred March 11-13, 2022 in Bradenton, FL.
Leading the team was head coach Callie Brownson, Chief of Staff and Assistant Wide Receivers Coach for the Cleveland Browns. Brownson also was a player on the 2013 and 2017 U.S. Women’s gold-medal teams.
2022 WORLD CHAMPS
The U.S. Women’s Tackle Football National Team defeated Great Britain 42-14 in the Gold Medal Game of the 2022 International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Women’s World Championship in Vantaa, Finland, on Sunday, August 7. The U.S. National Team’s 45-player roster earned gold among an IFAF Women’s World Championship field of eight nations across three continents with each game livestreamed to a global audience on The Olympic Channel.
