USA FOOTBALL ANNOUNCES INAGURAL DAY OF GIVING
Football’s National Governing Body strives to help athletes dream big by gifting $28 for 28
INDIANAPOLIS, IND. — USA Football has announced its first-ever Giving Day, a 24-hour national fundraiser set for Wednesday, October 15. The philanthropic effort will help grow the game, develop champions and expand access nationally, supporting all who dream of representing their teams, schools, communities and even their country in football.
Giving Day invites the football community to celebrate the sport’s impact and invest in its future as USA Football prepares for flag football’s Olympic debut during the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles. Celebrate the sport’s LA28 debut with a $28 gift to support the national teams.
Funds raised during Giving Day will benefit USA Football programs that serve local grassroots organizations up to elite athletes and development programs that make Team USA Football® the world leader in tackle and flag football.
“USA Football’s Giving Day is about opening doors for athletes and communities to fall in love with America’s favorite sport,” said Scott Hallenbeck, CEO of USA Football. “Every gift supports opportunities for girls and boys in tackle and flag through our grants program, strengthens Team USA Football and our National Team Development Program and creates a sustainable community for the athletes and coaches of tomorrow.”
“Growing up I always dreamt of being on the Olympic stage, but I never thought it would be for flag football,” said U.S. Women’s National Team athlete Ashlea Klam. “Now that this dream has turned into a real possibility, I’m honored to help grow the game for women. Join us for Giving Day and be part of the movement!”
The 24-hour event begins 12:01 a.m. ET on Wednesday, October 15. USA Football is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that does not receive any government funding. Contributions to USA Football are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Join the conversation at @USAFootball with #USAFootballGivingDay.
