USA FOOTBALL ANNOUNCES BREAKAWAY AS OFFICIAL ATHLETE APP & PERFORMANCE PARTNER IN MULTI-YEAR AGREEMENT

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. & LOS ANGELES, CALIF. – USA Football, the sport’s U.S. governing body and a Recognized Sport Organization of the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Committee, and BreakAway today announced a three-year partnership and services agreement.  

As the Official Athlete App & Performance Partner of USA Football, BreakAway will collaborate with USA Football to create integrated technology solutions for athletes, including a customized player app and developmental content. BreakAway will also assist in the creation of a bespoke scouting platform for USA Football's National Team program, integrating data and analytics from on-site activations such as BreakAway Field Labs and combines. 

In 2020, former NFL wide receiver Dave Anderson and former Marine and NFL assistant coach Steve Gera co-founded BreakAway. Previously, Anderson and Gera founded the sports tech consultancy Gains Group and worked with more than 100 teams globally across all sports.  

BreakAway will provide USA Football’s athletes with new forms of data to help them maximize their potential and recognize positive or negative trends that impact their performance.

BreakAway has many partners across the college and professional levels, including the NFLPA, XFL, East-West Shrine Bowl, WNBPA, Athletes Unlimited and NCAA Division I football programs, such as UCLA. The company has helped athletes like tennis star Andy Murray, former Pro Bowl center Alex Mack, and Boston College quarterback Emmett Morehead adapt their daily routines and training sessions to achieve maximum results.  

BreakAway’s Field Labs biomechanics assessments use multiple high-speed cameras and cutting-edge motion-capture technology to measure Real Positional Movements and key factors that traditional eye tests can’t account for. Results are delivered directly to athletes in the BreakAway app and shared with coaching staffs. 

Partnering with BreakAway is an opportunity for USA Football to support its U.S. National Teams through innovative technology and performance-driven insights.

As football’s governing body, USA Football organizes the U.S. National Team for international competition. The Men’s and Women’s Flag National Team will participate in the 2023 International Federation of American Football (IFAF) Americas Continental Flag Football Championship against top teams from North and South America from July 5-7 in Charlotte, N.C. while 15U and 17U Boys’ and Girls’ Flag National Teams compete in the Junior Flag International Cup.
