Heisman Trophy winner Desmond Howard to address players and coaches at IFAF Under-19 World Championship

WHAT: Heisman Trophy winner and College Football Hall of Fame member DESMOND HOWARD will visit and speak with all eight national teams participating in the 2012 IFAF Under-19 World Championship in Austin, Texas. Howard will deliver his address as the keynote speaker for the IFAF Under-19 World Championship Welcome Dinner.
A standout wide receiver and special teams returner at the University of Michigan, Howard set or tied 12 school records, scoring 138 points in 1991 to win the Heisman Trophy. The No. 4 overall pick in 1992 by the Washington Redskins, Howard played 11 seasons in the NFL. He was named MVP of Super Bowl XXXI after gaining 244 all-purpose yards, including a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown, to help the Green Bay Packers beat the New England Patriots, 35-21.
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Howard currently works for ESPN as a college football analyst.
USA Football’s Under-19 National Team is composed of 45 top U.S. high school players. The head coach is STEVE SPECHT, who has led Cincinnati St. Xavier High School to two Ohio big-school championships.
All 12 tournament games will be played from June 30-July 7 at Burger Stadium in Austin.
