NFL Teams Host USA Football Days at Training Camp

By Michael Kuebler Tue, 08/10/2010 - 2:27pm

NFL training camps are in full swing as the football season approaches. Professionals are running through drills. Rookies - well, most of them - are sporting wild haircuts and toting veterans' pads.

At the same time on fields across the country, youth football commissioners and coaches are getting back to work giving everything they have to our youngest players as practices begin.

Some NFL teams have recognized the effort put in by these volunteers by inviting them to their training camps for a day.

A dad sent the following question:

My son is a high school tailback. The coach wants him to know the different routes of a wide receiver. I'm confused, but I need to help him out. Could you explain the 1, 2 and 3 routes the coach is talking about?
