Foreign football looking more American every day

Having played and coached professional football in Sweden and Germany, respectively, Merritt (photo on left) was selected as the head coach of the 2010 U.S. Under-19 National Team assembled and managed by USA Football and was an assistant on the 2009 and 2011 teams. He also helped lead a national football coaching clinic in São Paulo, Brazil, this past April.
He knows that athletes outside of North America can play this game.

U.S. Men’s National Team star to play pro football in Finland
By Will Frasure Thu, 07/21/2011 - 4:04pmNate Kmic didn’t have too much time to settle back in his Delta, Ohio, home after his MVP performance at the IFAF Senior World Championship in Austria.
By the time he returned, he already had been contacted by five European teams interested in his services. For now, Kmic has decided to sign with Lappeenranta Rajaritarit (translates to “Border Knights”) of the Finnish Maple League for the remaining three games on the team’s schedule.
