For some officials, the end of football season calls for a much-needed vacation. Their job can be a tough task trying to call a perfect game while handling the personalities of coaches and players. Yet even when the off-season begins, some officials are still putting in dedicated work for others.

Officials Gear Up for Season with COEP

One of the most integral pieces to every football game is the officiating. It can have a profound impact on any game at any level. This is one reason why Ben Heugel, a USA Football officiating member from the West Coast Officials Assocation (WCOA) in the Tampa area, and Steve Strimling, the instructional chair of the San Fernando Valley Football Unit, thought it would be wise - and extremely helpful - to enroll their officials in USA Football's Certified Officiating Education Program (COEP).
