It may not look like it in parts of the country, but spring is right around the corner. And with warming temperatures comes time for USA Football to host its Regional Development Camps. Athletes from across the United States have the opportunity to train with current NCAA coaches, gain recruiting exposure and try out for the U.S. National Football Team.

Regional Development Camps serve as the first step in the national team selection process as USA Football coaches, staff and scouts make preliminary evaluations and select who will be invited to attend the National Development Games in the summer. From there, athletes are chosen to compete in the International Bowl against the IFAF World Team and Football Canada.

Click here for an explanation of the U.S. National Team tryouts.

Set in 24 markets spread across the United States, USA Football’s Regional Development Camps are open to all athletes in grades 6-11 regardless of talent level. Current NCAA coaches, top high school coaches and former NFL players instruct athletes in improving their skills on and off the field.

Included in Regional Development Camps are player development sessions in which former NFL players lead a discussion and answer questions from athletes and their parents. This is an open conversation in which men who reached the highest level of football share their stories to help younger athletes develop their lives and football careers into the best they can be.

Regional Development Camps provide an opportunity for athletes to talk to coaches from all levels and gain top recruiting exposure at a reasonable price. Highlight films can only go so far. Personal connections and attaching a face to a name with coaches lasts much longer.
