2-Minute Drill: Getting better at flag pulling

By Andy Ryland | Posted 4/23/2015

The Flag Pursuit drill is a simple, four-cone setup to help flag football players improve their defensive skills.

Starting with players three yards apart, ball-carriers shake and juke in a limited space so defenders can practice mirroring their moves.

On the coach’s command, the runner takes off forward while the defensive player tries to pull his flag. Players learn about angles and pursuit, two key components to the flag football game.
